Welcome to the Instructional Core
The Instructional Core for Advocacy, Research, and Excellence in Teaching and Learning (ICare) of GW Libraries and Academic Innovation (GW LAI) is the central university hub for faculty development, online course design, digital fluency, and instructional technology. ICare is a professional enterprise with a threefold mission:
Advocacy for faculty and student support in lifelong learning,
Research of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education to increase the student learning experience, and
Excellence in instruction at GW through training, skills-development, and advanced competency.
ICare includes a collaborative of multiple LAI entities including Faculty Development, the Instructional Technology Lab, the Instructional Design Team, and the Strategic Media and Digital Learning Team as well as GW partners including the Honey W. Nashman Center for Civic Engagement and Public Service, the Instructional Innovation Committee (IIC), and the Faculty Advisory and Support Team (FAST).
